"Dr. Kettaki Kasbekar Earns Third Doctorate on Gender Barriers in Leadership and Boardrooms”

In a significant academic achievement, Dr. Kettaki Kasbekar has been awarded her third doctorate by the Indian Management Institute and Research Centre. Her latest research, titled “The Silent Struggles of Women in Leadership and Boardroom: Navigating the Stereotypes, Bias, and Workplace Exclusion,” provides an in-depth analysis of the structural and cultural challenges faced by women aspiring to leadership roles in India.

The thesis explores how deeply rooted stereotypes, unconscious biases, exclusionary organizational cultures, and ineffective diversity policies contribute to the underrepresentation of women in executive and board-level positions. Dr. Kasbekar argues that while gender diversity is often discussed in theory, real progress demands intentional policy reform, inclusive leadership practices, and cultural shifts within organizations.

Focusing on India’s unique socio-economic and cultural landscape, the study draws comparisons with global trends and best practices, and offers practical, evidence-based recommendations for bridging the gender gap. It highlights how gender-diverse leadership is not just a matter of equity, but also a proven driver of profitability, innovation, and long-term sustainability.

This is Dr. Kasbekar’s third doctorate. Her earlier academic work includes a comprehensive study on the evolution of India’s real estate sector since 1998, and a second doctorate on the quantitative importance of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) in business growth and customer loyalty.

In addition to her academic accomplishments, Dr. Kasbekar is the author of Brick by Brick: My Journey Through Real Estate and Beyond, a memoir chronicling her personal and professional journey in the male-dominated real estate industry. The book has received appreciation for its honest portrayal of the challenges and triumphs faced by women in leadership.

With this latest milestone, Dr. Kasbekar continues to be a powerful advocate for inclusion, and a leading voice in the push for more equitable, diverse, and accountable leadership in Indian business and beyond.
