Griffin Publication releases Partha Prawal Goswami's Novel Autobiography Of A Paedophile

Griffin Publication releases Partha Prawal Goswami's debut Novel 'Autobiography of a Paedophile' on Saturday, 11 February 2023.

Partha Prawal Goswami is an Assam based journalist and writer. 

Senior advocate, veteran journalist and TV commentator Dr Ajay Kummar Pandey donned the Chief Guest's chair. At the same time, eminent columnist and educator Dr Shiv Sethi was the Guest of Honour for the event.

Speaking on occasion, Dr Pandey congratulated the author on his first book.

"With Indian publishing swaying more towards non-fiction and 'pop- fiction, the brave act of journalist turned author Partha Parwal Goswami assures that the future of timeless writing is in safe hands," he said.

"In this era of digital media, writing a novel on the topic of Sexual Abuse of children and its legal aspects was an act of rare courage. I congratulate the publisher and author for this bold attempt to rub the bruises of society and bring the dark secret to light," he added.

Dr Ajay Kummar Pandey also shared his vast knowledge of Literature and Law , stating how literature can play significant roles in society to educate the masses.

Wishing the novel a great success, he encouraged the author to follow his passion irrespective of how critics or the market responded to the debut creation.

Dr Shiv Sethi congratulated author Partha and stated that it was indeed a bold attempt to write a novel on issues regarded as taboo. He pointed out the issues of child marriages, child abuse and harrassments which needed to be voiced by authors so that the society is educated and people know how important it is to talk on such issues to educate everyone on topics considered as taboo.

Prof Shiv Sethi further expressed his willingness to review the book in detail and shared valuable information on Language and Literature.

Sharing his thoughts on the topic and the idea behind writing it, Partha Prawal Goswami said, "I was struck with this idea while I was doing my graduation from Darrang College. The idea got lost somewhere; however, during the COVID-19 lockdown, I seriously started considering it. Eventually, from the end of 2021, I started giving finishing touches to the story."

"I was sure of the story and that the title must have the word paedophile. The story revolves around an individual's life and his transition from a boy to a man. It is a love story with some shades of black and grey," he added.

Bestselling authors like Chayashree Pathak, Dimple Sarma, Niladri Chakraborty, famous Assamese actor Monuj Borkotoky, and aspiring poets Olivia Rajkumri, Monaliza Goswami and Bhargab Sarma also attended the event.

Published by Griffin Publication, Autobiography Of A Paedophile revolves around Raktim and the various stages of his life. From finding love to getting embroiled in a controversy that sees him lose his job, reputation, and several relations, the story deals with several aspects of life. Was he guilty of a crime he was accused of or was he framed- the author leaves no stones unturned to bring out these facts to his readers.
