Entrepreneur Rachna introduces a new concept called Decluttering for a Fulfilling life

Life becomes clumsy and congested when there’s clutter all over the space. The chair you sit in, the bedroom where you sleep and the kitchen where you cook everything needs to be decluttered. You cannot concentrate on work in an office where all files and documents are spread all over the table and chairs and tables are lying scattered. When there's clutter everywhere, it can feel like there's no place to rest your eyes. The abundance of objects can make you feel like you're drowning in a sea of things. A cluttered space can make you feel disorganized, which can impact your overall mood and mindset. You may feel like you can't get anything done or you're not in control of your surroundings. When there's clutter, it can be challenging to find what you're looking for, and you may have to waste your precious time searching for things. This can be frustrating and can also impact productivity. Clutter can be exhausting to look at, and it can drain your energy. When there's clutter everywhere, it can be challenging to feel energized and motivated to tackle the day's tasks. Overall, being in a room or office full of clutter can make you feel overwhelmed, stressed, frustrated, disorganized, and tired. However, it's important to note that different people may have different emotional responses to clutter, and some may even find it stressful and may lead to a loss of productivity.

Your mind won't agree to rest and work in the above situations. Because your mind loses focus and can't concentrate on a single thing as disturbing elements are revolving around you. You simply call this messed up in simple language. But this will have a longer effective if you are regularly in this condition of home and office. Decluttering refers to the process of getting rid of unnecessary and unused items from our living spaces, including our homes, offices, and other areas. It involves organizing our possessions and creating a more functional and comfortable environment. Decluttering is an important task that can help us lead a more efficient and stress-free life. This concept is becoming popular in India too.

Rachna Kacker is an Indian popular decluttering Expert who has been working in this particular niche for two years with her organization called Messmerize. This 42-year-old entrepreneur who comes from a tier 2 city of  Lucknow & now based in Mumbai for the past 12 years is India’s Leading & few Konmari Consultant by world Famous Decluttering Expert Marie Kondo. The KonMari method is a decluttering and organizing technique developed by Marie Kondo, a Japanese organizing consultant and author. The KonMari method is based on the principle of keeping only the items that spark joy in your life and discarding the rest. This approach is intended to help people lead more organized, fulfilling lives by surrounding themselves with things that bring them happiness.

She believes in a Holistic living approach to life that emphasizes the importance of treating the aspects of mind, body, and spirit. Holistic living recognizes that these different aspects of a person are interconnected and that maintaining balance and harmony between them is essential to overall health and well-being. This can include practices such as mindfulness, meditation, yoga, healthy eating, and self-care.

As per Rachna Combining the KonMari method with holistic living can be a powerful way to improve your life. By letting go of the things that no longer serve you, you can create more space and clarity in your physical environment, which can in turn lead to greater peace of mind and emotional well-being. And by focusing on the interconnectedness of your mind, body, and spirit, you can develop a greater sense of balance and harmony in your life overall.

It all started when Rachna didn't even know that there is something called decluttering existed on earth. She was working in the education sector. She worked with top B schools, corporates, and placement agencies. She has vast experience of more than 15 years in the industry. One day when she visited her parents' place in Lucknow she noticed that the house was full of clothes, utensils, and other items spread all over the house. She observed that her parents were finding it very hard to keep things organized and clutter-free home. Her mother complained that it was impossible to keep everything in the house. It’s very hard to manage everything and be peaceful.

But Rachna learned that it's not the problem of space available but the mindset of organizing things. It's all about how you utilize the resources and organize things beautifully. She started learning about this concept as this is a major problem in a thickly populated country like India and the living area will also be not much. So her exploration began in the area.

But while dwelling in the niche her observation revealed there’s a concept called decluttering which is very popular across the world. But ironically it was least known in our country where it has to be used and applied more. She also learned there's a popular decluttering trainer in Japan called Marie Kondo who has been in the same niche for years. Rachna researched for more than a year and decided to take a decluttering course from Kondo. She took the course after waiting for 3 months and learned many amazing things that she didn't know earlier.

After finishing the course Rachna decided to start her company and also teach about this decluttering concept and its benefits to the common people. Because she knew that this is going to be a huge problem for people where the space will be the same but the population is going to stretch, she started her company called Messmerize in Mumbai in 2021.

It's been two years that she has been working with her organization. Word of mouth is her only means of marketing. Her services were limited to Mumbai. But now she wants to expand her services and grow her organization. She wants to contribute to society by helping people lead a peaceful life by eradicating this basic problem that may disturb their peaceful life.

Rachna knows that decluttering is a new concept for India but it's a billion-dollar industry in the global market. People who have been disturbed by a lot of modern-day methods of living and unfiltered lifestyles are getting overwhelmed by everything. So decluttering is the only solution to this problem. Decluttering is not just limited to physical stuff. But it also includes removing emotional baggage which hampers your thinking and disturbs your daily routine.

Her vision is to build an all-women organization which will be focused towards providing decluttering & organizing services as well as certification & education for those who wish to make a career in this Industry. The certification program on decluttering is called  “The Boss Lady Blueprint” in which she not only teaches decluttering and organizing but also the ways to improve IQ and EQ, succeeding in both professional and personal life with the help of decluttering.

The entire concept of Decluttering works on 3 basic principles –

  1. Learn to Let Go
  2. Hone Decision Making Skills
  3. Managing to live with the existing Resources

It is a life-changing concept that has a holistic approach to improving human life at large.

This method focuses on identifying items that spark joy in one's life and discarding those that do not. In addition to this central principle, there are three key qualities that the KonMari Method encourages:

  1. Intentionality: The first quality that the KonMari Method encourages is intentionality. This means being intentional about what items we choose to keep in our lives and what we choose to discard. Rather than mindlessly holding onto everything we own, the KonMari Method encourages us to carefully consider each item and its role in our lives. By being intentional about the things we surround ourselves with, we can create a living space that truly reflects who we are and what we value.
  2. Mindfulness: The second quality that the KonMari Method encourages is mindfulness. This means being fully present and aware of our surroundings as we tidy up. Instead of rushing through the decluttering process, the KonMari Method encourages us to take our time and focus on each item individually. By approaching tidying up in a mindful way, we can better connect with our belongings and understand their true value in our lives.
  3. Gratitude: The third quality that the KonMari Method encourages is gratitude. This means expressing gratitude for the items we choose to keep in our lives, as well as for the items we choose to discard. By expressing gratitude for the things that have served us well, we can let go of them with a sense of peace and closure. And by expressing gratitude for the things we choose to keep, we can strengthen our connection to them and appreciate them even more.

Rachna has been honoured with many awards and felicitations for her works. She has been featured on Zee news. She was also named in Fox magazine as one of 100 influential Indians & has been Titled India's Own Marie Kondo. She has also been facilitated with the PIFA Power Woman Award.

She believes that Life is simple but we make it complex. The Konmari method of decluttering encourages us to be intentional, mindful, and grateful as we tidy up our living spaces & we can create a more peaceful and meaningful living environment that truly sparks joy in our lives.
