‘Shri. Gokuldas S Shirodker Trust’ formed in Goa 

Late Shri. Gokuldas S Shirodker was an eminent personality of Margao, a Development Officer in LIC by profession and a Social Worker at Heart, from being Vice Chairperson of ‘Margao Muncipal Council’ to becoming the Vice President of ‘Kho Kho Federation of India’ he has a long list of achievements. Acknowledging his sincere and Hard work towards the Society and dedication towards Indian sports like Kabaddi and Kho Kho, he was presented with ‘Social Worker of the Year 2010 for the State of Goa’ by ‘Government of Goa’ and Highest Sport Awards for the State of Goa , ‘Bakshi Bahadar Jivba Dada Kerker award’ for the Year 2013-14.

Late Gokuldas S Shirodker has served in various organisations across Goa from working as a Radio Artist for over 30 years to being elected as a Director at ‘The Bardez Bazar Consumer Co-op society Ltd, Mapusa’, from being a core founder of ‘Madgaon Shigmo Utsav Samiti’ to working to uplift Various Temples from the Popular ‘Hari Mandir,Margao’ , ‘Sai Baba Mandir, Shirvodem’ to ‘Shree Siddhivinayak Temple’ Gogol. He also worked as a lifetime member of Iconic ‘Vidhya Niketan Margao’, just to name a few.

After the passing away of Shri Gokuldas S Shirodker, his family with an intention to continue his legacy to serve the Society formed a Trust in his Name,‘Shri. Gokuldas S Shirodker Trust’. The trust was formed with the primary objective of conducting socio-cultural activities that promote harmony, unity, and understanding among diverse communities. They believe in the power of cultural exchange and dialogue to foster mutual respect and appreciation for different traditions and beliefs. They also work hard towards Indian Sports in our Society. Through their events, tournaments, workshops, and initiatives, they aim to create a platform for people from all walks of life to come together, learn from each other, and celebrate our shared humanity. They also strongly believe in encouraging and acknowledging the overlooked hard workers of our society by different means like Scholarships, Felicitation etc. The Trust is committed towards promoting social cohesion and building bridges across cultural divides through innovative and inclusive programming.

This Trust is dedicated to empowering individuals, fostering social development, and creating a more equitable society.

The Trust till date has organised ‘All Goa Kho Kho League’ with ‘All Goa Kho Kho Association’ to promote local talent in Indian Sports, Organised Guru Purnima at Multiple Places, one with Sauskar Bharti, Margao Branch which included Cultural Programmes, Felicitation of senior Guru’s, second program included Felicitating Teachers of ‘Samaj Seva Sangh’s Mahila and Nutan English High School, Margao Goa’ to acknowledge their Hard work. Trust has also organised ‘Independence Day Program’ in ‘Tiny Tree Play school, Raia’ which included Fancy Dress, Flag collage, dances and Flag colouring competitions for kids.

The trust aims to undertake a range of impactful initiatives in future in various fields to create difference in the lives of many.
