Interview with Rashmeen Kapoor, Author of “Wabi Sabi (Till the last moon I lived)” published by “InkQuills Publishing House”

1. When did you discover your love for writing?

Ans. I think I was twelve or thirteen years when I use to do diary writing a lot.  And I make sure I do every day where I put myself deeply into words. Slowly and steady it became love.

1. What drives you to write or who inspires you?

Ans.  I think since my childhood I have been my own motivator be it academics or professional work force. I try daily to achieve myself as a person, and also, I am a greatest believer of self-evaluation first. My life and challenges inspire me to write. I do not think I can hold my self- back having not to express anything, because writing is freedom I believe. 

1. Which genre do you prefer to write about?

Ans. It was not tough to decide that to which genre I am exactly inclined to. It was always poetry in my mind. 

1. How long does it take you to write the book “Wabi Sabi”?

Ans. Exactly 4 years with lots of breaks due to work and travel and procrastination to publish my work but was confident enough for whatever I am writing and publishing.

1. Tell us more about “Wabi Sabi”? 

Ans. ‘’Wabi- Sabi’’ is more about dealing with your own imperfections and try to evolve with that.  For example, If I trace my life since childhood till now which had / have challenges or imperfections I would absolutely love myself as a person which I have become. 

1. What are your thoughts on ‘Storytelling is an art’?

Ans. When I think about story telling its just one thing that comes in my mind which is the role of expressiveness. The more expressive one is more the spice one can bring while portraying a character.

1. Do you like reading? If yes, please tell us about your favourite authors and books?

Ans. I like readings but not much. I am more of a podcast person who loves to listen but yes I would always want to be in touch with books, there is nothing less than that and would suggest people to read more and more. Books makes us introduce to ourselves. Apparently, I am reading about life of Gautam Buddha and his teachings, and the book truly shows the relevance to the way we live now.

1. Do you have any messages for your readers?

Ans.  Firstly, make books your best friends which I myself trying too. Secondly, we humans are deeply expressive in nature so do express your self of what you feel. Be it writing or speaking anything that make you free and reflect the real you!

1. What's your message to budding/ aspiring writers?

Ans. Analyze your writings well and improve it the way you want but never doubt or feel under confident about your initiatives which we also take for ourselves.

1. Lastly, how was your experience working with InkQuills Publishing House?

Ans. It was tough choosing a publisher for my book after exploring a lot but in the end, I landed my destination well. Happy to publish my work with them and satisfied enough to work more in future.
