The Road to HelppMe.in: A Story of Purpose, Failure & a Fresh Start
Starting Small, Thinking Big
The journey didn’t begin with success. It started with effort and belief. Muhammad Aafaque, a student who once considered dropping out after 10th standard, found a turning point during the COVID-19 lockdown. The “all-pass” policy gave him a chance, and he used it to change his path.
In college, he focused on skills instead of marks. With his friends, he started Nexion Connects — a small design agency. They learnt web design, branding, and development on their own. Clients came, projects grew, and they gained confidence. But Aafaque always felt a deeper need — to build something more useful.
Failures That Hurt — But Taught
That need led him to create NearByz, a local service directory. It didn’t succeed. Then came RideFynd — a rickshaw booking app designed for Ambur. Aafaque personally met drivers, tested the app, and tried to bring change. But it failed. Drivers weren’t ready, and local challenges made it harder.
“That failure affected me a lot,” Aafaque says. “I stopped talking to people. But I kept thinking about what went wrong.”
These failures were tough but full of lessons. They taught him patience and the value of solving real problems.
The Puzzle Piece by Piece: Birth of HelppMe.in
While thinking about past experiences, Aafaque noticed something simple: during emergencies, people didn’t know which number to call. Important contact numbers were scattered and not easy to find.
So this time, he moved slowly and carefully. No ads. No sign-ups. Just one website with trusted emergency contact numbers. A simple platform created from local experience.
That’s how HelppMe.in was born.
A Meeting That Changed Everything
Around this time, Mohammed Sajeel, an Ambur native working in Northern Ireland, saw HelppMe.in on LinkedIn. He didn’t just see a website — he saw a clear purpose.
Sajeel had tried something earlier too. He built Flare — an app for delivery, groceries, rides, and local jobs. But it didn’t work. He was working alone and didn’t have support.
When he spoke to Aafaque, he asked him one question: “Will you stop if this gets difficult?”
Aafaque replied, “Never.”
That answer built trust. Two people with similar stories — now working with the same goal.
Rebuilding After the Fall — Together
With Sajeel as Co-Founder, the platform moved ahead. He brought experience, planning, and support — not only for the project but for the entire team.
Aafaque focused on ground-level needs. Sajeel worked on long-term strategy. They improved the website, organised the data properly, and made a working model that could later be expanded to other towns. But first, they made sure it served Ambur.
And it started working.
The Team That Grew with the Vision
Behind HelppMe.in is a growing team of hardworking learners.
They offered internships to students. Interns were trained, guided, and given real responsibilities. Many of them became important team members.
One of them was Zabiullah. He joined as a Social Media Marketing intern. He had no background in the field, but he learnt fast. He worked on tech, did outreach, and became a main part of the team. Along with Irbaz Ahmed S, who supported tech operations, Zabi helped run and grow the platform. He was later officially recognised and awarded.
Another example is Niha. She was referred by Aafaque’s family and had no previous work experience. But she showed interest and potential. After an interview, she was given a chance. She learnt digital marketing, led content projects, and now works as Head of Marketing. She manages campaigns and trains new interns.
Their stories show what is possible when chances are given to those ready to learn.
What’s Next
HelppMe.in is more than just a website — it is a helpful tool built for the people of Ambur.
What started as an idea has now become a working system. Built from real struggles, failures, and honest efforts, this platform is now ready to serve. From emergency numbers to useful local contacts, everything is available in one place — fast, reliable, and free.
And now, it’s time to move forward.
We are proud to announce that HelppMe.in will officially launch on or before 20th June.
This launch is not just about going live. It’s a sign of what is possible when people don’t give up — when they learn from failure, build with purpose, and trust each other.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Let’s continue building something meaningful — together.
